# Virtual card awaiting approval.
## What is happening when a virtual card is awaiting approval
If you virtual card requires an approver you will be shown a status in the header as in the example below.
**Approval can be required for multiple reasons**
1 - the virtual card is above your single transaction limit
2 - the virtual card takes the payee over a time based spend limit
3 - you have gone over your personal time based spend limit
**Do I need to do anything?**
No the Paid platform will have notified the appropriate approvers and they will be taken to action the approval. Once they action the approval request you will be notified.
